Camp TedRock Adirondack Forest Retreat provides private and secluded off grid campsites and structures on 5 forested acres within the Blue Line of The Adirondack State Park in Thurman New York. Just minutes from I-87 and the Lake George Region, our A Frame site offers a 120 square foot authentic A-Frame cabin with an open Adirondack Lean-to approach. This 1-4 person A frame comes with 2 sleeping cots each with quilted pads, 2 hammocks with hanging space inside or out and plenty of space to pitch a tent all around, tent included. Down by the stream you'll find a fire ring with a cooking grill and outdoor seating. Inside the A frame you're provided with authentic oil lanterns and flashlights, gas cook stove, kitchen ware, food storage cooler and small table and chairs. 14 gallons of potable water is provided with a nearby stream for additional supplies. There is a small corner loo inside the A frame with a flushing RV type toilet and also a comfortable Adirondack outhouse with an ecological waste removing system. Although the A frame is unheated, there is a small propane space heater to take off the chill of a cool Adirondack evening. This 5-acre quiet paradise is surrounded by on site walking trails where the only sounds are the owls and an occasional airplane. Camp TedRock is close to many popular Adirondack adventures including nearby Crane Mountain, spectacular Garnet Lake, The Hudson River and many more. Top quality kayak packages are available upon request at an additional charge. The popular Lake George and Adirondack High Peak Regions await your exploration and provide endless adventures, all just minutes from your camp. Cancelation Policy: If you cancel at least 7 days before your check in day and time, you’ll receive a full refund (minus Hipcamp fees). If you cancel within the 7 days before check in, there will be no refund.

A Frame Campsite
Campsite that surpass expectations!
Let me start by stating that I have significant experience renting via AirBnB and VBRO but this was my first time using Hipcamp. The headline from my three friends and me is that the A-Frame Campsite and Ted provided an exceptional experience that surpassed our expectations. For starters, the listing provided comprehensive information and Ted was very helpful in answering my questions about the stay and accommodations. On the first night of our reservation, my buddy Jeff arrived first and met Ted around 8pm. Jeff told me that Ted was friendly and assisted him in getting settled and answering his questions. When I arrived at 9:30pm, Ted returned to the site and happily introduced himself. From the road where I parked my car, it was a very short (<1 min) and easy walk to the campsite and Ted provided a wagon for hauling our gear in. The A-Frame was spacious, solidly constructed, and clean. The overall campsite provided lots of space and we found a spot adjacent to the A-Frame for a tent. Nearly everything we could need was present at the site- gas for the small stove, bug spray, cots, playing cards, a trove of dish and cookware, two lanterns, plenty of chairs, garbage and recycling receptacles, and more. The outhouse was clean and waste removal was easy. The next day Ted stopped by and advised us on hiking spots and other attractions. He's a wonderful host and for those seeking a getaway in the serenity of the wildness, I highly recommend staying at his campsite!

Upper Works Tent Cabin w/ tent site
Ted’s site was great! stayed in the upper works cabin and Ted had the site fully stocked with cooking & camping gear (camp stove, lanterns, etc.) Would definitely stay again, very remote and nice and cool during the day under the shade of the trees

A Frame Campsite
Beautiful ADK getaway!
We had a wonderful stay in the A-frame! The location is terrific - you’re a short drive from some of our favorite ADK hikes and kayak spots, and the A-frame surroundings are so peaceful. Ted has outfitted the site very thoughtfully - cots, cooking supplies, chairs, firewood and lighters - and was so kind and helpful whenever we had questions. The site is perfect for novice campers looking to grow their experience or, as in our case, experienced campers looking for a temporary lighter lift - I usually canoe camp at Indian lake but decided to do two night here while several months pregnant and was so glad for the cot, RV toilet, and water/wood provision!! Be aware that with minimal cell service in the area, you might benefit from screenshotting not only the directions but also any instructions. Also the A-frame has some openings at the top so while it is beautifully protected from rain, etc, you will still need to dress for the outdoor temps unless you use the (wonderful) gas heater. Will 1000% return next year!

A Frame Campsite
we were honored to be Ted’s first guests at the beautiful A-frame he built! the area is beautiful and close to so many hiking trails, and the A-frame is nestled in the peaceful woods next to a babbling brook. we enjoyed having so much privacy but, at the same time, felt at ease since the hosts were close by and ready to help if needed. we had a bit of trouble finding the place as we arrived around sunset and found the directions to be a bit unclear, but the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful in getting us to the spot, and were just lovely people in general! the cabin was primitive but extremely well-stocked with cooking gear, headlamps and lanterns, firewood and fire starters, and more— we didn’t end up needing half the stuff we packed! being early april, it was certainly chilly at night but having the small gas heater made evenings and mornings much more bearable. this is a fantastic spot, thanks Ted!
